LumiWave Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
LumiWave does not collect any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. Your music files, playlists, photos, settings, and audio analysis stay on your device — or in your own iCloud, if you turn on backup. If you connect Google Drive, the app reads it directly from your device, read-only, solely to import the audio files you choose. We never see your data.
This policy applies to the iOS application LumiWave published by PAOSystem. It is separate from the privacy policy for our website.
1. Information We Collect
None. LumiWave does not collect, store on our servers, transmit, or share any personal information. There are no user accounts, no sign-up, and no analytics or tracking of any kind.
2. Data That Stays on Your Device
The following is stored only in the app’s private storage on your device:
- Audio files you import, and the metadata read from them (title, artist, artwork)
- Playlists you create and images you choose for them
- Photos you select for the Slide visualizer
- App settings, such as your preferred visualizer and quality options
Audio analysis (FFT, loudness and beat detection used to drive the visualizers) is performed entirely on your device in real time. Audio is never uploaded or recorded.
3. Photo Access
When you add photos to the Slide visualizer or set a playlist image, iOS presents a system photo picker. LumiWave receives only the images you explicitly select, copies them into its own storage, and never uploads them. The app does not request access to your full photo library.
4. Apple Services
- Apple Music (MusicKit): if you choose to connect Apple Music, playback and catalog search are handled by Apple. We receive no information about your Apple Music account, library, or listening history.
- In-App Purchases (StoreKit): purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never receive your payment details.
- iCloud Backup & Playlist Sharing (CloudKit): if you enable backup, your playlists, track metadata, and artwork (not the audio files themselves) are stored in your private iCloud database. Playlist sharing links are delivered through iCloud as well. This data lives in your iCloud account on Apple’s infrastructure; we cannot access it.
Your use of these services is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
5. Google Drive
Connecting Google Drive is optional. If you connect your Google account, LumiWave
requests read-only access to Google Drive
(drive.readonly) and uses it for exactly one purpose: letting you
browse your folders and import the audio files you select.
- What the app accesses: file and folder names and metadata, to show your Drive contents in the app; and the content of the audio files you explicitly select, which is downloaded directly from Google to your device.
- What the app stores: the sign-in tokens are kept in your device’s keychain, and imported files are stored on your device. Google Drive data is never sent to us or to anyone else.
- What the app never does: no data from Google Drive is used for advertising, sold, shared, analyzed for any other purpose, or read by humans.
- Disconnecting: you can disconnect in the app at any time, or revoke LumiWave’s access in your Google account settings. Disconnecting deletes the tokens from your device.
LumiWave’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. YouTube
If you add YouTube links to your library, LumiWave fetches the public title, channel name, and thumbnail for those links from YouTube. Importing a YouTube playlist goes through a small relay we operate, which receives only the public playlist ID — never anything about you — and stores nothing. Playback uses YouTube’s official embedded player and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
7. Network Use
LumiWave makes network requests only for the features described above:
- Album artwork for Apple Music tracks, from Apple’s servers
- Google Drive browsing and file download, when you connect Google Drive
- YouTube link metadata and embedded playback, when you add YouTube links
- iCloud backup and playlist sharing, when you enable them
None of these requests carry analytics, identifiers for tracking, or any data beyond what the feature itself requires.
8. Third Parties
LumiWave contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising, no analytics services, and no tracking technologies. Data flows to Apple, Google, or YouTube only when you use the features above, at your direction, and is never shared with anyone else.
9. Deleting Your Data
All app data lives on your device (and, if you enable backup, in your own iCloud). Deleting LumiWave from your device removes every file it created, including imported audio, playlists, photos, settings, and any Google Drive sign-in tokens. Backups can be deleted from the app’s settings.
10. Children’s Privacy
LumiWave collects no personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
11. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
