Getting started
LumiWave plays the music you already own and turns it into real-time visuals. Open the Library tab, tap the import button, and choose audio files through the iOS Files app. Tap any track to start playback, then open the Visualizer tab to pick how the music is drawn.
How do I import music from cloud storage?
LumiWave imports through the iOS Files app, so any service you have connected there works — iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and others. In the Library tab, tap import, then browse to the service in the Files picker and select your audio files.
Which audio formats are supported?
- Lossless: WAV, AIFF, FLAC, ALAC
- Compressed: AAC, MP3
- Sample rates up to 192 kHz, bit depths of 16 and 24 bit
Files are played at their original quality. Lossless and Hi-Res tracks are marked with a badge in the library and on the Now Playing screen, and the exact format, sample rate and bit depth are shown alongside them.
Why does the visualizer behave differently with Apple Music?
Apple Music tracks are played through Apple’s MusicKit framework, which does not expose the raw audio signal to apps. LumiWave therefore cannot run its frequency analysis on them. For Apple Music tracks the visualizer switches to a mode driven by playback progress and track metadata instead of live audio. Files you import yourself are analysed in full.
How do I create and delete playlists?
- Create: open the Playlists tab and tap New Playlist.
- Add tracks: from the Library, long-press a track and add it to a playlist.
- Reorder or remove tracks: open a playlist and tap Edit, or swipe a row left.
- Delete a playlist: swipe it left in the list, or tap Edit and use the remove button.
Deleting a playlist never deletes the audio files themselves — the tracks stay in your library.
How do I use my own photos in the Slide visualizer?
Open the Visualizer tab, select Slide, and choose your photos with the system picker. LumiWave only receives the images you explicitly select and copies them into its own storage. It never uploads them and does not request access to your whole photo library.
What does LumiWave Pro include, and how do I restore it?
LumiWave Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It unlocks the Bottle and Creature visualizers and any new modes added later. All playback features, the CG and Slide visualizers, playlists and quality display are free and stay free.
You can preview the Pro visualizers for free in the Visualizer browser before buying. If you reinstall the app or move to a new device, open Settings → Restore Purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account.
Playback stutters or the device gets warm
Open Settings → Graphics Quality and choose Power Saving. Left on Auto, LumiWave already adjusts rendering to the state of your device, but Power Saving caps it further. Audio playback is never affected by this setting.
Where is my data stored?
Everything stays on your device: imported audio, playlists, photos and settings. LumiWave has no accounts, no servers and no analytics, and audio analysis runs locally in real time. Deleting the app removes all of it. See the privacy policy for details.
